Kan: The Green Gallery Collection of significant ceramic works. Marking the generous gift of 70pieces of works by 41 artists, mostly modern Japanese Ceramists to the Auckland War Memorial Museum in December 2006 by Mr and Mrs Shigenori Itoh of the owners of the Green Gallery in Waiheke Island.

For more than 30 years, Shigenori and Kazuko Itoh offered wonderful opportunties to many artists by organising nearly 940 exhibitions in their two galleries located in Minami Aoyama and Akasaka, Tokyo.

They emigrated to New Zealand in June 2001, where they subsequently set up the Green Gallery on Waiheke Island, giving the opportunity to exhibit to both Japanese and New Zealand.
