Dr Yoshitaka Okada is Professor of New Energy at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo. He received his BSc from King’s College, University of London and PhD from the University of Tokyo.
He heads the national project on NEDO Research and Development of Innovative Solar Cells, whose target is to increase solar cell conversion efficiency to higher than 45%. He also serves as co-leader of the EU-Japan Coordinated Call (Seventh Framework Program) on ultra-high efficiency concentration photovoltaics cells, modules and systems. In this lecture, Prof Okada will give an overview of Japanese solar cell research and industry. |
