2018 Returnees Welcome Back Reception

On Wednesday 27th February a reception was held to welcome back 8 JET Programme participants who returned from Japan in 2018.
After a welcome from Consul General Kikuchi, a representative of the newly returned JET participants, expressed his appreciation for the JET Programme and gave his impression of his experience in Japan.
The reception was also attended by representatives of the JET alumni association, the CLAIR Sydney Office, Auckland Japanese Society, the New Zealand Japan Society of Auckland and the Japanese Business Person’s Society of Auckland and interviewers for the JET Programme. In addition to increasing networking opportunities for returning JET participants it was also an opportunity to once again recognize the contribution that the JET Programme maes to further mutual understanding between Japan and New Zealand.
Japan will be in the spotlight this year with the upcoming major international events of the Rugby World Cup this year and the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics next year so it is hoped that the experiences of the JET programme participants will contribute to furthering the positive relationship between Japan and New Zealand.
