JET Programme Returnees Welcome Back Reception (5/5/2022)
On Thursday 5 May, a reception was held at the Consul General’s residence to welcome back JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme participants who returned from Japan in 2021. In addition to the returnees, the reception was also attended by members of the Auckland JET Alumni Association (JETAA), interviewers for the JET Programme, and a new JET Programme participant scheduled for an early departure this year.
Consul General Hamada made a speech welcoming back the returnees and the JET Alumni members and interviewers spoke about the JETAA’s activities and the significance of the JET Programme. The newly returned JET participants each shared their experiences of Japan and the soon to depart JET participant spoke of her excitement for the future.
We hope that the experience of the JET Programme participants in Japan will be an asset to their professional career and to the future of our two countries as well.
