On Wednesday 20 March, a reception was held at the Consul General’s residence to welcome back JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme participants who returned from Japan in 2023.
At the reception, Consul General MATSUI made a speech welcoming back the newly returned JET participants and they shared their experiences of working as ALTs (Assistant Language Teacher) at schools in various regions of Japan and expressed their appreciation for the JET Programme.
The reception was a great opportunity for networking with the new JET Programme returnees expected to contribute to the future development of the Japan-NZ relationship as it was also attended by members of the Auckland JET Alumni Association (JETAA), university teachers who have helped promote the JET Programme, and the members of the JET Programme interview panel.
