A quiet family's bond is tested when the truth of a child origins comes to light

Set in Nagashima, a small fishing town in Kagoshima Prefecture, this human drama follows Yuichi Hino, who runs a family yellowtail farm with his wife Satsuki, his mother Mie, and their seven-year-old son Towa. 

Though Towa is not their biological child, he has been part of their family since infancy, and the couple now hopes to formally adopt him. However, as they begin the legal process, they uncover unexpected truths about Towa’s past and the identity of his biological mother—reopening questions that quietly unsettle the fragile balance between families, community, and belonging.

Set against the calm rhythms of island life, the film delicately explores the meaning of parenthood and the invisible ties that define what it means to be a family.
