Fairhaven School (Bay of Plenty)

Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland visited Fairhaven School (13students Year 4&5) on Thursday 22 September 2016 which is located in the beautiful kiwi fruits capital Te Puke.
They enjoyed learning about Japanese food with surprisingly realistic food replicas. Then they watched the DVDs about Japanese culture and School life in Japan and discussed the similarities and differences of school life in New Zealand and Japan. Also they had a great fun learning how to wear Yukata (Japanese traditional summer kimono), Happi (Japanese traditional coat) and Geta (Japanese traditional footwear).
We thank you very much for their warm welcome with beautiful maori song and dance and greetings by students and teachers. We hope see you all again sometime in near future!
