Mt Roskill Grammar School

On Tuesday 12 March, consulate staff visited Mt Roskill Grammar School to meet 22 students (Y12 & Y13 Fashion design class) . 

They are designing robes and origami inspired shirts. We talked about the difference between Kimono and Yukata (Japanese casual summer kimono) and they learnt how to wear Yukata. They were enthusiastic when they got the chance to try on beautiful and colorful yukata.  

This topic (Yukata dressing) is one of popular topics for many schools in the Auckland region. We always look forward to meeting students with an interest in Japan and its culture.
