In Japan, the topic of "oreore swindle (swindle by false personation)", which criminals pretend to be sons or grandchildren and deceive money from elderly people, is being widely reported on television and newspapers. And it has become a major social problem. In spite of being a victim, the deceived elderly sometimes reply that “but, he was a very good young man", rather than hating the criminal. Even though it is a crime, the victim tells people about the fraud like a sentimental story.

The intolerance towards people with different backgrounds and values has caused further divisions. While some people may feel uneasy even about their neighbors, there are Japanese grandmothers who accept even deceivers. Where does that tolerance come from?

This movie may be a very Japanese story, but this can be a story that shows the "tolerance" needed anywhere in the world in times of conflict. A young man who has escaped from the"oreore swindle" group is the main character of the movie. The story begins when an elderly lady answers his phone. The strange life of an old woman and a young man has begun. Then, he experienced the calmness that has fallen out of his life before. He happened to work with a youth group planning an “old 8mm screening” at an old town cinema. His lie has turned into a true story.

Set in the atmospheric port city of Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture. Tatsuya YAMAMOTO’s film unfolds a heartwarming drama about an unusual surrogate family.
