Parnell District School

2016/11/28

On Friday 21 October 2016, Consulate Staff visited Parnell District School (Five classes of 25 students each, Years 1 to 8 combined) as part of the school’s Diversity Day activities.

The students enjoyed a DVD about Japanese food. Then they discussed the similarities and differences of food in New Zealand and Japan.  They also enjoyed looking at Japanese food replicas, the real-as-life models that restaurants in Japan use for their window displays.
The students also enjoyed wearing Happi and traditional Japanese masks. They had great fun playing with Kendama a traditional Japanese toy.
