Ishikawa Prefectural Governor Visits Auckland
2018/10/31
On October 18 and 19, the Prefectural Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture Mr Tanimoto visited Auckland and together with Consul-General Kikuchi and other officials attended a ceremony to celebrate the agreement with the North Asia Cape (Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence) on a Japanese language study and cultural experience exchange program, a ceremony to celebrate the agreement on support for the New Zealand Canoe Federation training camp before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic, and a tourism seminar and networking meeting including promotion of tourism to Ishikawa prefecture.
With these agreements we can expect to see a further strengthening of friendly relations between New Zealand and Japan through sports exchange and people-to-people exchange. In addition, with the upcoming 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, there is increasing interest through tourism seminars in New Zealand in visiting Japan.
