2022/11/18
On Wednesday 16 November, Consul General Hamada attended a book donation ceremony along with Hauraki Deputy Mayor Paul Milner and local supporters at Japan Library: Pukapuka, which was chosen as one of the recipients of a Japan-related book donation from the Nippon Foundation’s Read Japan Project 2021.
This is the second time Japan Library: Pukapuka has received a book donation from the Nippon Foundation. The library is operated out of the home of Jillian Yorke and Hitoshi Morishita in Paeroa. The private library holds over 8,000 Japan related books in Japanese and English. It is hoped that Japan Library: Pukapuka can be used not just by local people, but also by anyone who is interested in Japan.
