Aikido Shinryukan 53rd Anniversary Gasshuku (26 February 2023)

Aikido Shinryukan’s 53rd Anniversary Gasshuku was held at Bucklands Beach Intermediate School in Auckland from 24 to 26 February. Shihan Yoshinobu Irie from the Aikido World Headquarters in Japan travelled to New Zealand for the event, as well as many instructors and practitioners of Aikido from New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Samoa and New Caledonia.

Deputy Consul General Otashiro spoke at the Gasshuku on the final day, paying tribute to Aikido Shinryukan founder Shihan Nobuo Takase’s passion for Aikido and his teaching and offered her hopes for the furthering of friendly relations between Japan and New Zealand through Aikido Shinryukan’s activities.
