Sogetsu Auckland Branch Ikebana Exhibition (21 September, 2024)

On 21 and 22 September 2024, Sogetsu Auckland Branch held their annual Ikebana exhibition at Eden Garden in Auckland. Sogetsu Auckland Branch Director Tomoko Hirano opened the event expressing her gratitude at being able to hold the exhibition and Consul General MATSUI made a speech. He paid his sincere respects to Sogetsu Auckland Branch for their decades of activities and contributions as well as for spreading the practice of Ikebana in Auckland, reconfirming continued support for Sogetsu Auckland Branch by the Consulate-General of Japan.
The exhibition featured displays of the works by Sogetsu Auckland members and Ikebana demonstrations from Ms. Takako Martin and other members. This exhibition which was attended by many visitors including Consuls General and Honorary Consuls and was a special occasion for them to further their understanding of the pleasure and creativity of the traditional Japanese art of Ikebana.
