Aikido Shinryukan 55th Anniversary Gasshuku (2 March 2025)

Consul General MATSUI attended Aikido Shinryukan’s 55th Anniversary Gasshuku in 2025 at Avondale College in Auckland on 2 March, joined by Shihan KATSURADA Eiji from Japan as well as many instructors and practitioners of Aikido from Dojos in New Zealand and other parts of Asia and the Pacific region.

The Consul General spoke at the Gasshuku, celebrating Aikido Shinryukan for its 55th Annual Gasshuku and also paying tribute to founder Shihan TAKASE Nobuo who was promoted to the highest 8th dan, for his revered passion and devotion to Aikido for 55 years in NZ.

He also encouraged all the participants training for both physical and mental development, expressing his hopes for the furthering of friendly relations between Japan and New Zealand and for the contribution to the Japanese Budo (martial arts) as a whole through Aikido Shinryukan’s activities, and also reconfirmed the support of the Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland.
