Consul General MATSUI attends Matariki Champion Awards 2025 (20 June 2025)

On 20 June, Consul General MATSUI attended Matariki Champion Awards 2025 at Papakura Marae in Auckland hosted by Ms Anne Kendall QSM (Raukawa ki Waikato), the Co-Chair at the NZ Māori Council, and Whaitiaki Charitable Trust in order to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, and tautoko (support) twenty-year celebration of Papakuratanga, joined by Ms Henriette Nakhle MNZM, QSM, Honorary Consul for Lebanon, Mr Martin Mariassouce, Auckland Regional Director of Te Puni Kōkiri, Ministry of Māori Deveopment, and others.
With special gratitude for this invitation, Consul General MATSUI delivered a speech on Japanese Matariki, Subaru and its significance in connection with the Japanese traditional and modern life culture including reference to the Japanese automobile and performance of the song named likewise with a view to contributing to furthering the Māori-Japanese cultural exchange.
