Eligibility
Applicants must hold a valid long-term New Zealand Visa (Resident, Work, Student, Guardian) and must be residing in the top half of the North Island (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty Regions and Ruapehu District of Manawatu-Wanganui Region ONLY) to be eligible to apply at the Consulate-General of Japan.

Payment of Visa Fees
Visa fees vary depending on your nationality and the type of visa for which you are applying. Please see here for more information.

Processing Times

Please allow plenty of leeway
Applications for most visas open three months before the intended date of travel. Applications for Working Holiday Visas can be submitted up to one year before intended date of travel.
