Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland Rowandale Primary School
On Thursday 11 November 2010, 22 students (Year 6) visited our Consulate with their teachers. They learnt about Japanese products and culture that have come into New Zealand life and culture. For example Sushi is now very popular in New Zealand and Japanese martial arts such as Aikido, Judo and Karate, Kendo are practised right through out NZ. Also Japanese technology, such as Japanese automobiles and game consoles ( Sony Playstation, Nintendo DS, Wii ) are now a part of New Zealand life. Also, they enjoyed some DVDs about life and culture in Japan and had a lot of fun trying Japanese calligraphy.
