Racy suspense comedy by director Uchida Kenji, who wowed audiences with his storytelling prowess in After School and A Stranger of Mine, winner of four awards at the Cannes Critics Weeks. Features popular stars like Sakai Masato, who teamed up with Uchida in his previous films.  Sakurai is a struggling actor, and Kondo is a hit-man with amnesia. Sakurai, who became a hit-man on a whim, finds himself taking on dangerous jobs. Kondo, caught up in pretending to be Sakurai for a play, is being wooed by Kanae.

Thoughtfully selected scenes from thousands of hours of footage offer insight into the true essence of a historical legend. Kanzaburo will never die…because his heart lives on in those who follow.

Family drama set in Ashibetsu City, Hokkaido directed by Obayashi Nobuhiko. Building on his previous film Casting Blossoms to the Sky, Obayashi focuses on the border between life and death and brings to light an untold war story that was hidden within a family. Relatives gather from afar in wintery Ashibetsu upon the death of patriarch Mitsuo (Shinagawa Toru). A mysterious woman named Nobuko (Tokiwa Takako) suddenly shows up. Her appearance gradually exposes wartime secrets and Mitsuo's unknown past.
